What is Hypnosis?

There are many fears and misunderstandings about hypnosis. The most important thing to understand is that hypnotherapy is not a stage hypnosis where the hypnotist seems to control the subject by invoking embarrassing situations that are carried out on the volunteer on stage.

The most common misconception is that you somehow lose control while being hypnotised. That is completely untrue. In hypnotherapy you remain completely in control at all times and can never be made to do anything you do not want to.

You are fully able to talk if you wish to (or not, if you do not want to) and can terminate the session, stand up and leave the room at any time.

Hypnosis actually is a very natural state that we have all experienced. Think about daydreaming or driving the car. While driving you can be on “autopilot” but yet entirely aware of hazards on the road.

“Hypnosis is a state of mind, enhanced by (although not exclusively) mental and physical relaxation, in which our subconscious is able to communicate with our conscious mind”.
